About Black Jack
Black Jack follows unlicensed surgeon Black Jack taking impossible cases with Pinoko. The 12-episode OVA run (1993 to 2011) adapts Tezuka's stories faithfully. The TV series (2004 to 2006, 61 plus 17 episodes) retells them lighter, and the 2005 film closes with the superhuman protocol.
Stories are standalone, so release order is the tour. Start with the OVAs for the truest take.
