About Blade of the Immortal
Blade of the Immortal follows Manji, a swordsman cursed with immortality until he kills one thousand evil men, and Rin Asano, the girl whose parents were murdered by the Itto-ryu school. The manga was adapted three times, and only the 2019 Liden Films series tells the whole story.
Good to know
The 2008 Bee Train series covers only the opening chapters and ends without resolution, so treat it as a curiosity after the 2019 version. The 2017 live-action film compresses the same early material into a single sitting.
