- 1 Saint Seiya 114 episodes, October 1986 to April 1989. Asgard (74 to 99) is anime-only filler; Poseidon closes the run at 100 to 114.

- 2 Saint Seiya: Evil Goddess Eris First classic film, released July 1987. Standalone Eris story; watch any time after the early episodes.
- 3 Saint Seiya: The Heated Battle of the Gods Released March 1988. Standalone Asgard-flavored story that contradicts the TV run.
- 4 Saint Seiya: The Legend of the Crimson Youth Released July 1988. Standalone Abel story.

About Saint Seiya
Seiya and four fellow Bronze Saints fight for the reincarnation of Athena, climbing the twelve temples of the Sanctuary against the Gold Saints. Toei's classic ran 114 episodes from October 1986 to April 1989: Sanctuary through episode 73, the anime-only Asgard arc at 74 to 99, then Poseidon at 100 to 114.
Release order carries the story forward. The Hades OVAs from 2002 to 2008 finish the manga's final arc in 31 episodes across Sanctuary, Inferno and Elysion. Films and spinoffs slot around that spine: the 1980s films are standalone contradictions, Heaven Chapter Overture (2004) plays as a sequel to Hades, and the CG remake Knights of the Zodiac retells the early arcs from 2019 to 2024.
Good to know
Episodes 74 to 99 (Asgard) are anime-only filler, skippable on a lean watch though some fans rate the arc. Heaven Chapter Overture premiered in 2004 between the Hades chapters but plays as a sequel, so save it until after Elysion despite its earlier release slot. Soul of Gold and Saintia Sho are streaming productions sometimes labeled ONA; both are listed as series here. This list skips the separate continuities Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas and Saint Seiya Omega. No new Saint Seiya anime had been dated as of September 2026.
