About Speed Racer
Speed Racer follows Go Mifune, a young driver chasing glory in the gadget packed Mach 5 while the masked Racer X shadows him. The franchise spans the 1967 anime, a 1990s remake, the Wachowskis' 2008 film and a sequel series about the next generation.

The 1997 series and the 2008 film retell the original story rather than continuing it, so treat them as alternates. The Next Generation is the only direct sequel, set a generation after the 1967 series.
