About Vinland Saga
Thorfinn starts as a boy who idolizes explorers, then spends his youth as a vengeful warrior hunting Askeladd, the mercenary who killed his father. Season 1 (WIT Studio, 24 episodes, July to December 2019) tells that revenge story. Season 2 (MAPPA, 24 episodes, January to June 2023) strands him as a slave on Ketil's farm, where he has to find a reason to live beyond killing.
Both seasons stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll. Makoto Yukimura's manga ended in July 2025 at chapter 220, but no third season has been announced, and Yukimura publicly denied viral production rumors in January 2026.

Season 3 status was checked carefully: as of September 2026 neither MAPPA, Netflix nor the production committee has announced a renewal, date or studio. Treat any specific 2026 date seen on social video as rumor. The two existing seasons are complete and self-contained enough to watch now.
