- 3 Code Lyoko Season 3 15 episodes, September to October 2006. Short serialized run that ends with Lyoko destroyed.
- 4 Code Lyoko Season 4 30 episodes, May to November 2007. Rebuilt Lyoko, the Cortex-free finale of the original run.
- 5 Code Lyoko: Evolution 26 episodes, January to December 2013. Live-action school scenes with CGI Lyoko. Separate continuity, not canon per the original head writer.
About Code Lyoko
Code Lyoko ran for 97 episodes across four seasons on France 3 and Cartoon Network from 2003 to 2007. Four Kadic Academy students use a supercomputer to fight the rogue AI X.A.N.A. inside the virtual world of Lyoko.
Release order works because each season builds on the last. Code Lyoko: Evolution (2013) repeats the premise with live actors and new CGI, but the original head writer does not count it as canon, so treat it as a separate continuity watched after season 4.
Good to know
Season lengths: 26, 26, 15 and 30 episodes. The two-part prequel X.A.N.A. Awakens aired in 2006 but is set before season 1, so newcomers can start with season 1. Evolution ran 26 episodes on France 4 from January 5 to December 19, 2013. Head writer Sophie Decroisette has said Evolution is not canon to the original show. A fully animated sequel continuing from season 4 was announced June 12, 2026 by Decroisette and producer Jerome Mouscadet on Radio Campus Orleans, with no title or date yet; further news was expected in fall 2026.
