About Fat Albert

Bill Cosby built the series from his childhood stories, opening with the 1969 NBC special and running on CBS from 1972 to 1982 with live-action bookends and a junkyard band song in most episodes. Later seasons added the Brown Hornet and Legal Eagle segments, syndication followed in 1984 and 1985, and Kenan Thompson starred in the 2004 film.

Good to know

Three prime-time holiday specials (Halloween, Christmas and Easter) aired during the run and play as standalone extras. No new Fat Albert project has been announced, and the 2004 film remains the latest screen entry.
