- 5 Masters of the Universe Dolph Lundgren stars. A loose take on the toys, tied to no series.
New Adventures continuity
- 6 The New Adventures of He-Man (1990) Futuristic reboot, 65 episodes. Revelation skips it, so it is optional.
2002 reboot continuity
- 7 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002-2004) Cartoon Network remake, 39 episodes. Cancelled after two seasons on a cliffhanger.

About He-Man
He-Man started as a Mattel toy line in 1982 and reached TV in 1983 with Filmation's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which ran 130 episodes. Later versions reboot the story instead of continuing it. The 2002 series, the 2021 CGI series and DreamWorks' She-Ra from 2018 each stand alone, while only Revelation (2021) and Revolution (2024) continue the 1983 story.
Watch the 1983 series first, then Revelation and Revolution. Everything else can follow in release order or be skipped to taste. The 2026 live-action film from Amazon MGM tells its own standalone story, so it fits anywhere after the original.
Good to know
Revelation ignores The New Adventures of He-Man (1990) and the classic She-Ra series. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018) is a separate DreamWorks continuity with no He-Man crossover. Revolution ends on a Despara tease pointing at She-Ra, but no follow-up season had been announced as of September 2026. The 2026 film premiered May 18 and opened June 5; director Travis Knight has called it standalone with sequel potential, but no sequel had been greenlit.
