About Josie and the Pussycats
Hanna-Barbera's 1970 series sent the leopard-print band on mystery capers for 16 episodes, then launched them into space for 16 more in 1972 with the alien Bleep joining the cast. The band crossed over with Scooby-Doo in 1972, and Universal's live-action film starring Rachael Leigh Cook arrived in 2001.
Good to know
The 2001 film is a fresh take on the band rather than a continuation, so it plays fine on its own. Cast members discussed a sequel around the 25th anniversary in 2026, but no studio has confirmed a new project.
