- 1 Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film) Theatrical pilot, August 2008. Introduces Ahsoka Tano; watch before the series.
- 2 Star Wars: The Clone Wars 7 seasons, 133 episodes. Seasons 1-5 on Cartoon Network (2008-2013), season 6 on Netflix (2014), season 7 on Disney+ (2020).
Rebellion era
- 3 Star Wars Rebels 4 seasons, 75 episodes plus shorts, 2014-2018. Follows the Ghost crew and continues Ahsoka's story.
Sequel era
- 4 Star Wars Resistance 2 seasons, 40 episodes, 2018-2020. A sequel-era side story. Optional; it barely touches the other shows.
Early Empire
- 5 Star Wars: The Bad Batch 3 seasons, 2021-2024. Direct sequel to The Clone Wars about Clone Force 99 after Order 66.
Anthology shorts
- 6 Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi 6 shorts on Disney+. Ahsoka and Count Dooku backstories; fits anywhere after The Clone Wars.
- 7 Star Wars: Tales of the Empire 6 shorts. Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee stories from the Empire's side.

About Star Wars
Lucasfilm's animated canon runs from the Clone Wars to the sequel era through six series and one pilot film. It introduces Ahsoka Tano, the Ghost crew and Clone Force 99, and several of its arcs feed directly into live-action shows.
Release order is the recommended path. The Clone Wars aired out of chronological sequence by design, and an official shuffled order exists, but first-time viewers get the intended reveals and crossovers by watching in the order below. Resistance is the one skippable entry.

The Clone Wars film (August 2008) leads into the series; seasons 1 to 5 aired on Cartoon Network, season 6 on Netflix (2014), season 7 on Disney+ (2020). An official chronological episode order exists on StarWars.com for rewatches. Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord was announced at Star Wars Celebration in April 2025 as a 2026 animated series; with no release date set it stays out of the list.
