About X-Men
X-Men: The Animated Series adapts classic comics across five seasons, ending with Xavier leaving Earth with Lilandra. X-Men '97 picks up directly from that finale with most of the surviving voice cast, then splits the team across time in its second season.
Watch the 1992 series first, then both seasons of X-Men '97. X-Men: Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men sit in separate continuities and are optional.

The Animated Series ran 5 seasons and 76 episodes from 1992 to 1997. X-Men '97 season 1 has 10 episodes (2024) and season 2 has 9 (July 1 to August 12, 2026), built around Apocalypse. Season 3 has finished production and is expected in 2027, with season 4 already in production. X-Men: Evolution (2000 to 2003, 4 seasons) reimagines the team as teens, and Wolverine and the X-Men (2008 to 2009, 1 season of 26 episodes) ends on an unresolved cliffhanger. The 12-episode Marvel Anime X-Men series from 2011 is a separate entry left out of the list.
