About Amnesia
Amnesia is Frictional Games' first-person horror series about memory loss, guilt and things that hunt in the dark. You play unarmed, hiding and managing light and sanity across Castle Brennenburg, Victorian London, the Algerian desert and a French bunker in 1916.
This play order follows release order. The stories stand alone except Rebirth, which continues threads from The Dark Descent, so release order keeps every connection intact. New players should start with Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Good to know
Amnesia: Justine (2011) is a short free expansion bundled with The Dark Descent on most platforms. The Penumbra trilogy (Overture, 2007; Black Plague and Requiem, 2008) is Frictional's earlier separate series. SOMA (2015) is by the same studio but is a separate science fiction story and is not listed.
