About Castlevania

Castlevania spans four decades of Belmonts fighting Dracula, split across stage-based Classicvania, exploration-driven Metroidvania, experimental 3D entries and the Lords of Shadow reboot trilogy. The timeline rebooted more than once, so release order grouped by era is the recommended play order.

Start with Symphony of the Night (1997, via the Requiem collection) or Super Castlevania IV through the Anniversary Collection. Handheld standouts live in the Advance Collection (2021) and the Dominus Collection (2024). Belmont's Curse, the first new entry since 2014, is dated Oct 15, 2026.

Good to know

Some store pages list the Switch version of Belmont's Curse for Oct 15, but Konami's official site (June 2026) says its date follows later in 2026, so the item below keeps the confirmed platforms dated and the Switch day open. Spin-offs such as Judgment (2008) and Harmony of Despair (2010) are optional and unlisted. Lords of Shadow is its own reboot continuity, separate from the classic timeline.
