About Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot ran through three Naughty Dog platformers (1996-1998), then a long post-ND stretch of sequels, racers and reboots from other studios. Crash 4: It's About Time (2020) ignores everything after Warped and acts as a direct sequel, which keeps the play order simple.
Play the N. Sane Trilogy (2017) instead of the PS1 originals, then Crash 4. Twinsanity (2004) is the fan favorite of the middle years, and Team Racing Nitro-Fueled (2019) covers the racing side. Team Rumble (2023) stopped getting content updates in 2024.
Good to know
A planned Toys for Bob sequel, Crash 5 with Spyro crossover concepts, was cancelled in late 2020 after Crash 4 sales fell short of Activision's hopes, per 2024 reporting; no new mainline game has been announced. Toys for Bob went independent in 2024 and signed with Xbox for a new project. Mobile titles such as On the Run (shut down 2023) are unlisted.
