About Crysis
Crysis is Crytek's first-person shooter series built around the Nanosuit, a suit that grants armor, strength, speed and cloaking. The story tracks the alien Ceph from the Lingshan Islands to occupied New York through soldiers Nomad, Michael Sykes, Alcatraz and Prophet.
This play order follows release order, which matches the story order. Warhead runs parallel to the first game, so play it directly after Crysis. New players should start with Crysis, ideally the Remastered version inside the 2021 trilogy.
Good to know
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy launched October 15, 2021 and is the current version of the first three games. Crysis 4 was announced on January 26, 2022, then put on hold in Q3 2024, which Crytek confirmed during layoffs announced February 12, 2025, so it is not listed as an entry.
