Hades follows Zagreus escaping the Underworld run by run to reach the surface. The 2020 original ends at the true-ending epilogue. Hades II (version 1.0 in September 2025 after early access) continues with Melinoe against Chronos.
Play Hades first. The sequel assumes the Underworld's gods and rules.
Good to know
Finish the original's epilogue before the sequel for the full effect. Both games keep expanding with patches.
