About Nioh
Nioh is Team Ninja's dark samurai action RPG series set in Sengoku era Japan. Release order is the recommended play order even though Nioh 2 is largely a prequel. Newcomers should start with the first Nioh or Nioh 3, which adds open fields and two switchable combat styles.
The list covers the trilogy from Nioh (2017) to Nioh 3, released February 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC. Nioh 2 opens in the late 1500s before the first game, with its final chapters set after it. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Rise of the Ronin share developers and themes but are separate series.
