0 / 4 playedRelease order. Rankings, cliffhangers and returning killers only land in this sequence.
- 1 No More Heroes Travis enters the UAA ranks in Santa Destroy. First released in Japan in December 2007, then worldwide in 2008; play the Switch (2020) or PC (2021) port.
- 2 No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Travis defends his rank against new assassins. Direct sequel.
- 3 Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Travis and Badman trapped in the Death Drive MK-II console, fighting through indie-styled boss games. Structural spinoff, still story-canon.
- 4 No More Heroes III Alien invasion of Santa Destroy closes the Travis arc. Latest released entry.
About No More Heroes
No More Heroes follows Travis Touchdown, an otaku assassin climbing the United Assassins Association ranks in Santa Destroy with a beam katana. Grasshopper Manufacture and Goichi Suda (Suda51) mix hack-and-slash fights with part-time jobs, wrestling moves and anime jokes.
This play order follows release order, which is the only order that makes sense: each game answers the last one's cliffhangers. New players should start with the first No More Heroes, using the 2020 Switch or 2021 PC port as the current version.
Good to know
No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise (2010) is an HD port of the first game, not a separate entry. Dates: Desperate Struggle (January 26, 2010 in the US), Travis Strikes Again (January 18, 2019 on Switch; October 17, 2019 on PS4 and PC), No More Heroes III (August 2021 on Switch; October 2022 elsewhere). Suda51 said in 2021 that No More Heroes III closes Travis's story while leaving the door open in typical fashion; with nothing announced as of 2026-09-17, this post treats the series as completed. Grasshopper's Romeo Is a Dead Man is a separate IP.
