About Back to the Future
Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel from 1985 to 1955, 2015, 1885 and several stops between, across three films directed by Robert Zemeckis. The trilogy ran from 1985 to 1990. Each sequel picks up seconds after the previous ending.
Release order matches story order, so one list covers both. Watch them 1, 2, 3. Nothing else is required.
Good to know
The 1991 animated series ran two seasons and 26 episodes on CBS, set after Part III with Doc's family and a rebuilt DeLorean. It is optional and aimed at kids. Shorts and the Telltale game (2010) are licensed extras. Zemeckis and co-writer Bob Gale have repeatedly ruled out a Part IV, so the trilogy stands completed.
