About The Expendables
Sylvester Stallone co-wrote, directed, and starred in The Expendables (2010) as Barney Ross, leader of a mercenary crew played by Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews. The sequels kept adding action stars: Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris in The Expendables 2 (2012, directed by Simon West), then Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, and Antonio Banderas in The Expendables 3 (2014, directed by Patrick Hughes). Expend4bles (2023, directed by Scott Waugh) shifted focus to Statham's Lee Christmas alongside Megan Fox, 50 Cent, and Tony Jaa.
Release order is story order, so one straight list covers the series. Expend4bles grossed about $51 million worldwide against a reported $100 million budget, and Stallone has said it was his last outing as Barney Ross. In November 2025 Lionsgate took over franchise rights from Millennium Media to develop future films, TV, and games, but no fifth film had been greenlit or dated as of September 2026.

The fourth film is officially stylized Expend4bles. Box office and budget figures are rounded from studio reporting. Dolph Lundgren teased in 2025 that Stallone was working on a fifth film, but that remains talk, not a greenlight: Lionsgate announced rights and development plans only, with no title, cast, shoot, or date.
