About Fast and Furious
Fast and Furious started in 2001 as a street-racing crime film and grew into a globe-trotting heist saga about Dominic Toretto's crew, a found family that keeps getting pulled back for one more job. Eleven films are out so far, plus the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff.
The one quirk is Tokyo Drift. It came out third but its story happens much later, after Fast and Furious 6. Everything else plays in the order it was released, which is also the order the crew assembles on screen.
Good to know
Watch in release order and Tokyo Drift will feel like a detour with unfamiliar faces. That is normal. Its lead, Sean, barely connects to the main crew until later films explain where his story sits.
Fast X ends on a cliffhanger and the finale, Fast Forever, is currently dated March 17, 2028 after several delays, so treat that date as tentative. A Hobbs-centered bridge film has also been announced to connect Fast X to the finale.
