About Final Destination
Final Destination (2000) sets the formula: a teenager foresees a disaster, saves a few people, and Death reclaims them in elaborate chain-reaction kills. Four sequels repeat the design with new casts, from a highway pileup to a bridge collapse. The Final Destination (2009) is the fourth film despite its title.
Bloodlines (2025) revived the series after 14 years with a family-wide curse and the franchise's biggest opening at $51 million domestic. A seventh film is dated May 12, 2028, with Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor returning and Michiel Blanchart directing.
Good to know
Release order is story order. Bloodlines opens with a 1960s prologue, but its main story follows the earlier films, so it sits sixth either way.
The seventh film's final title is not set. Warner Bros. put the date on its calendar at CinemaCon in April 2026; plot details are under wraps.
