About Ju-on / The Grudge
Ju-on began as two Japanese V-Cinema films in 2000, moved to theaters with Ju-on: The Grudge (2002) and its 2003 sequel, then spawned an American trilogy from 2004 to 2009.
Later Japanese anniversary films, a 2014 reboot pair, the crossover Sadako vs. Kayako (2016) and the 2020 American sidequel each restart or branch the curse, so release order is the clearest path.
Good to know
White Ghost and Black Ghost (both 2009) drop the Saeki family for new cursed houses, and The Grudge (2020) runs parallel to the 2004 film rather than after it. No new Grudge film has a title or date.
