About Predator
Seven Predator films run from the 1987 Schwarzenegger original to Badlands (2025). The premise barely changes: an alien hunter picks the deadliest prey available. The settings do the work, from Central American jungle to 1719 Comanche territory to a death planet in the far future.
Chronological order differs because Prey is a prequel and Killer of Killers is an anthology spanning the Viking era to World War II. Start with release order. The Trachtenberg films reward knowledge of the originals.
Good to know
Predator: Badlands opened November 7, 2025 and is the latest released entry. It flips the formula by making a young outcast Predator, Dek, the protagonist alongside Elle Fanning's android Thia. Predator: Killer of Killers premiered June 6, 2025 on streaming as an animated anthology in three eras.
The two Alien vs. Predator crossovers are excluded as their own continuity. Trachtenberg has said he has a third Predator film in mind, but nothing beyond Badlands had been officially announced as of September 17, 2026.
