About Barry
Barry follows Barry Berkman, a Marine veteran turned contract killer who drifts into a Los Angeles acting class while on a job and tries to leave murder behind. Bill Hader co-created the HBO series with Alec Berg and plays Barry opposite Henry Winkler as teacher Gene Cousineau, Sarah Goldberg as Sally, Stephen Root as handler Monroe Fuches and Anthony Carrigan as NoHo Hank.
The story runs straight through in release order across 32 episodes, eight per season, with no spinoffs or films. Season 4 aired April 16 to May 28, 2023, with Hader directing all eight episodes, and the finale closes Barry's story for good.
Good to know
Season 3 arrived three years after season 2, in April 2022, after pandemic-era delays. HBO announced in March 2023 that season 4 would be the last.
