Bridgerton adapts Julia Quinn's novels season by season, each following a different sibling: Daphne in 2020, Anthony in 2022, Colin and Penelope in 2024, Benedict and Sophie Baek in 2026. Queen Charlotte (2023) is a six-episode prequel about the young queen's marriage, framed by scenes in the present-day ton.
Release order works because Queen Charlotte was written for viewers who already know the main show. Netflix has renewed the series through season 6, with season 5 now filming and no other spinoff announced.
Good to know
Season 3 split into two parts, May 16 and June 13, 2024. Season 4 did the same, January 29 and February 26, 2026, with eight episodes following Benedict and Sophie. Season 5 follows Francesca and Michaela two years after season 4. No premiere date was set as of 2026-09-17.
