About Knight Rider
The original Knight Rider aired on NBC from September 1982 to April 1986: four seasons and 90 episodes of Michael Knight and the talking Pontiac Trans Am KITT. David Hasselhoff stars and William Daniels voices the car. Release order works for the whole franchise, since every sequel assumes the original.
Two 1990s TV films followed, then the one-season Team Knight Rider, then a 2008 pilot film and one-season revival about Michael's son. The 1994 film shares little but the name. A Universal feature film was in talks as of August 2025 with no date.
Good to know
Code of Vengeance (1985 to 1986) grew from the Knight Rider episode Mouth of the Snake but was retooled away from FLAG and KITT, so it sits outside this list. Team Knight Rider ran 22 episodes, 1997 to 1998.
