About Prison Break
Prison Break ran four seasons on Fox from 2005 to 2009, built around Michael Scofield's plan to free his brother Lincoln Burrows. The Final Break, a TV movie released in May 2009, fills the gap between the season 4 finale's prison break and its four-years-later epilogue. A fifth season of nine episodes revived the show on Fox in 2017.
Hulu's reboot Prison Break: Black Creek, run by Elgin James with new characters at a new prison, started production in Los Angeles in September 2026. It shares the universe but not the cast, so it sits at the end of this list as unreleased.
Good to know
The Final Break was cut from two unshot season 4 episodes and released after the finale, so watch it after season 4 even though its events precede the epilogue. Season 5 retcons Michael's death from that epilogue. Wentworth Miller said in 2020 he was done with the role and would not return, and the reboot was developed without the original leads. Hulu bills Black Creek as coming soon but gives no air date as of September 17, 2026.
