About Chainsaw Man
Denji fuses with his chainsaw devil Pochita and joins Public Safety Special Division 4 under Makima. MAPPA animated season 1 in 2022, 12 episodes, then continued the canon story as a theatrical film, Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc, which opened in Japan on September 19, 2025.
The film is required, not a side story. It adapts the Reze and Bomb Devil chapters directly after season 1. The next manga arc, the International Assassins Arc, is announced but has no date or confirmed format as of September 2026.

The Assassins Arc anime was announced at Jump Festa on December 21, 2025, with a second teaser and staff reveal from MAPPA on June 19, 2026. Tatsuya Yoshihara returns as director. MAPPA has not confirmed a TV series versus film format or a release window as of September 17, 2026; late 2026 or 2027 timing in press coverage is speculation. Watch season 1, then the Reze film, then wait.
