- 3 Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Five-part side story released 2012 to 2016, set in Europe between R1 and R2. Watch after R2 to avoid breaking the main flow.

About Code Geass
Exiled prince Lelouch gains the Geass power of absolute obedience and leads a rebellion against Britannia as Zero. The TV story runs through Lelouch of the Rebellion (25 episodes, 2006 to 2007) and R2 (25 episodes, 2008), with the Akito the Exiled side story set on the European front between the two.
The 2017 to 2018 recap trilogy retells the TV story with changed scenes and a different ending, and it feeds directly into Lelouch of the Re;surrection (2019) and Roze of the Recapture (2024). Release order is the recommended path. Skip the recaps if you watched the TV series, unless you plan to continue into the films.
Good to know
The recap films (Initiation, October 2017; Transgression, February 2018; Glorification, May 2018) form an alternate timeline: Re;surrection and Roze follow the films, not the TV ending. The franchise's 20th anniversary project announced new productions at a December 2025 event, with revival screenings running January to June 2026, so more entries are expected but none are dated yet.
