About Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a 12 episode TV series from January to April 2011 by Shaft, written by Gen Urobuchi, where Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi face the cost of contracts with Kyubey. Two 2012 films, Beginnings and Eternal, compress the series with redone voices and some new animation.
Watch in release order and treat the recaps as skippable. Rebellion from October 2013 continues the story with a new ending. Walpurgisnacht Rising opened in Japan on August 28, 2026 as the direct sequel after delays from winter 2024, winter 2025 and February 2026.

Walpurgisnacht Rising opened 20 days before this verification date, so streaming and disc details were still settling. No follow-up entry has been announced. The Magia Record spinoff game and anime sit outside this list.
