About Inside Out
Inside Out from 2015 follows 11-year-old Riley and her five core emotions as her family moves to San Francisco. Riley's First Date from 2015 catches her at 12, and Dream Productions is a four-part mockumentary about the studio that films her dreams. Inside Out 2 from 2024 brings Anxiety plus three more new emotions as Riley turns 13.
Dream Productions premiered on Disney+ on December 11, 2024, after the sequel's June theatrical run, but its story sits between the two films. Watch it third so the new emotions arrive last. One list covers the whole canon.
Good to know
No short or special titled Mind Candy exists in the Inside Out canon as of September 2026. Pixar's site and the franchise filmography list only Riley's First Date from 2015 and the Dream Productions series from 2024 alongside the two features. Riley's First Date premiered at D23 in August 2015 and joined the Blu-ray that November. Inside Out 3 has no greenlight or date; writer Dave Holstein said in February 2025 that brainstorming had started.
