About Five Nights at Freddy's
Blumhouse's first Five Nights at Freddy's film (2023) stars Josh Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, a night guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, with Matthew Lillard as William Afton. Directed by Emma Tammi, it turns Scott Cawthon's game lore into its own screen continuity and opened in theaters alongside a Peacock streaming release.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opened December 5, 2025, again directed by Tammi, and adds the Toy animatronics and the Marionette. It grossed about $240 million worldwide. Lillard signed a three-film deal, and the sequel's ending points at Springtrap, so a third film looks likely even though Universal has not dated one.
