About Rocky
Rocky (1976) follows club fighter Rocky Balboa from debt collector to a title shot against Apollo Creed. Five sequels track his rise, fall and return, ending with Rocky Balboa (2006). The Creed trilogy (2015-2023) shifts focus to Adonis Creed, Apollo's son, with Rocky as his trainer for the first two films.
Release order matches story order, so one list covers both. Creed III is the first entry without Sylvester Stallone. A fourth Creed film is in development with Michael B. Jordan set to direct and star, but it has no release date. The planned Drago spinoff about Ivan and Viktor Drago is on hold.
Good to know
Status notes as of September 2026: Jordan and producer Irwin Winkler both say Creed IV is in development, with no date attached. Dolph Lundgren said in May 2026 that MGM shelved the Drago film to prioritize Creed IV, though it was never formally cancelled. Amazon is also developing Creed-universe TV projects, including Delphi, set at Apollo's old gym.
