About Zorro
Most Zorro films retell the same origin, so there is no strict continuity outside the Antonio Banderas duology of The Mask of Zorro (1998) and The Legend of Zorro (2005).
Start with the 1998 film, then its 2005 sequel, and add the 1920, 1940 and 1975 classics only if you want the history.
Good to know
Sony hired Brian Helgeland in April 2026 to write a Django/Zorro crossover from the Tarantino comic, but it has no director or date, so it stays off the list for now. Several other Zorro film and TV projects have been reported as in development with even less attached.
