Altered Carbon follows soldier Takeshi Kovacs resleeved into new bodies to solve murders across centuries. Season 1 (2018) covers the Bancroft case with Joel Kinnaman. Resleeved (2020) is an anime side story. Season 2 (2020) continues with Anthony Mackie hunting Quellcrist.
Release order works. The anime slots between the seasons as a standalone job.
Good to know
Kovacs changes actors by design, since sleeves change. The books diverge after the first season.
