About Battlestar Galactica
The reimagined Battlestar Galactica starts with a two-part miniseries from December 2003, then runs four seasons from 2004 to 2009. It follows the last survivors of the Twelve Colonies as the Cylons hunt the fleet across space.
Two TV movies slot into the run. Razor aired in November 2007 between seasons 3 and 4 and flashes back to the Pegasus story from season 2. The Plan arrived in October 2009 after the finale and retells the first two seasons from the Cylon side. Caprica (2010 to 2011) and Blood and Chrome (2012) are prequels set decades earlier.
Good to know
Watch in release order first. The prequels assume you know the main story, so save Caprica and Blood and Chrome for after the finale even though they sit earlier in the timeline. Razor ends with a flash-forward some viewers treat as a spoiler, which is another reason to watch it in its aired slot after season 3. This list covers the 2003 to 2012 reimagined continuity only and skips the 1978 original series and Galactica 1980.
