About Justified
Justified aired on FX from 2010 to 2015, with Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, policing Harlan County, Kentucky across 78 episodes. The show adapts Elmore Leonard's stories, chiefly the short story "Fire in the Hole."
Justified: City Primeval (2023) brings Raylan back about 15 years later in Detroit, adapted from Leonard's novel City Primeval with Raylan written into the lead role. Watch the six seasons first, then the eight-episode sequel.
Good to know
City Primeval was billed as a limited series, and FX had not ordered a second season as of 2026-09-17. Paul Calderon also returns as Detective Raymond Cruz, a link to Leonard's novel Out of Sight. The original run ended because Olyphant and developer Graham Yost chose to close the story at six seasons.
