About The Chronicles of Narnia
Walden Media adapted three of C. S. Lewis's seven Narnia books between 2005 and 2010: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The trilogy earned over $1.5 billion worldwide, though each entry grossed less than the last. Andrew Adamson directed the first two; Michael Apted directed the third.
Netflix has held the rights to all seven books since 2018. Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician's Nephew adapts the creation story for the first time. It opens in theaters on February 12, 2027 and streams on Netflix from April 2, 2027, after moving off its earlier Thanksgiving 2026 slot.

Date caution: Netflix first targeted Thanksgiving 2026 for a limited IMAX run, then shifted the film to a wide February 2027 theatrical window. The dates above reflect the May 2026 announcement, the most recent official word.
The Magician's Nephew is the sixth published book but the first in story order, which is why the two lists below differ. Walden's planned fourth film, The Silver Chair, was never made.
